We don’t mean that in a bad way, because healthy food truck lines is a very good thing in this industry from a money standpoint. In hopes of helping mobile kitchen owners during summer 2017, truck owners should incorporate these top food truck ideas into the mix.
Cold Beverages And Desserts
Cold beverages and desserts rule the summer. That’s how it’s always been, and that’s how it always will be. There’s no need to fight it.
As a result, food truck owners should think about incorporating things like cold tea, iced coffee, lemonade, etc. When it comes to the dessert department, ice cream needs to be for sale.
People will travel to your truck just for cold beverages and desserts, so why wouldn’t you add those types of things to the menu?
Constantly Remind Your Customers It Is Summer On Social Media
Okay, so this isn’t exactly a food idea, but it is something that needs to be done.
You should be constantly reminding your customers/followers/fans that it is summer via social media posts. The best way to do this is by saying you are serving up ice cream (or whatever it might be) all summer long, or giving away free summer treats.
Give your customers a reason to come to your food truck.
Cater To Families
You don’t necessarily have to follow this step, but it wouldn’t hurt.
After all, families (and people in general) tend to do most of their traveling during the summer. Therefore, if you cater to them by offering up specials for large groups, or discounted prices for children, you could end up landing more customers.
Add Fresh Fruit And Vegetables To Your Menu
There’s a couple of different reasons why you should add fresh fruit and vegetables to your menu during the summer. (1) Fruit and vegetables are in season during this time — well, for the most part, that is. (2) So many people try to eat healthy during this time of the year, and fruit and veggies have healthy written all over them. (3) Since more people tend to go outside, travel and venture to busier areas (you know, places where food trucks tend to be), you could have more vegans and/or vegetarians coming to your food truck, and you need to plan accordingly.
While so many people tend to crave ice cream during the summer, fruits and vegetables are also a big hit.
Put Your Own Twist On BBQ-Like Foods
BBQ is the king of summer. In the spirit of that thinking, you should add BBQ-like foods to your menu (even if it’s only one meal/side), and of course, add your own twist to it. It could be hamburgers, hot dogs, corn, ribs — anything! Mark it up as a special, and watch this food get ordered over and over again!
Whether you own a food truck or trailer, you should be incorporating the things above early and often this summer.
